KABE integrates E-Trailer solution into its Smart-D digital on-board management system

Standard on Imperial series, optional on all other KABE models

Rijswijk, August 23, 2022 – On behalf of KABE AB, E-Trailer has adapted its smart caravanning solution to the Smart-D system of the Swedish caravan and motorhome manufacturer. From 2023 season, the Scandinavian caravan and motorhome manufacturer will equip its Imperial series with E-Trailer modules as standard. The customers can select the solution as an option for all other KABE series. This allows customers to monitor tire pressure, gas level and vehicle leveling with the Kabe’s Smart-D app. The E-Trailer system communicates with Kabe’s Smart-D system via the CI-BUS standard.

“This successful cooperation is a first example of the potential of the E-Trailer system with the CI-BUS standard we recently introduced,” explains Boy Trip CEO and founder of E-Trailer B.V. “Our sensor modules function smoothly in the KABE vehicles in combination with sensors from other manufacturers, which control lighting and heating, for example. At the same time, the customer always uses the KABE Smart-D app that he is familiar with.”

The heart of the E-Trailer system is the E-Connect base station which receives the data from the E-Trailer sensors E-Pressure (tyre pressure), E-Level (leveling) and E-Gaslevel (gas bottle level) and forwards them to the Smart-D system from KABE. The data can not only be called up in the KABE SMART-D app, but also at the main display in the Kabe caravan or motorhome. To do this, the E-Connect is connected to the Smart-D system with a CI-BUS connection. The E-Trailer components are already installed in the KABE factory before the vehicle is delivered. The customer can then carry out the configuration in the Smart-D app himself or together with his KABE specialist dealer.

Alternatively, KABE customers can also use the E-Trailer app and then install additional sensor modules from E-Trailer. For example, to measure the temperature (E-Temperature) or to provide information about open doors, windows or skylights (E-Switch). The module for measuring the support load was specially developed for caravans (E-Load).
